Case Study Details:

Patient’s History:

The patient is a resident of Khadiya, ta: Kapadwanj. He is by occupation a farmer. He was suffering from the disease for 2 years before he came to our center.

Reports before treatment:

HIV Test: The HIV test was carried out to eliminate the probability of infection by HIV. The test result was negative showing that the patient did not suffer from it.

VDRL: The VDRL test was carried out on 17th July, 2013. The result obtained was shown as weakly reactive suggesting that there may be a chance of syphilis. The patient was advised to repeat the test after one month.

Reports after treatment:

VDRL: The report dated 25th October, 2013, showed absence of reactivity leading to negative result.

Physical observation before the treatment:

The patient suffered from the ulcer of penis gland. He also had occasional bleeding and swelling in that area.

Physical observation after the treatment:

Disappearance of the ulcer was observed. There was no further bleeding or swelling in the vicinity of the area.

Result of the treatment:

The VDRL test for syphilis showed negative result after three and a half month’s treatment indicating that the patient no longer suffered from syphilis. The ulcer of the penis gland disappeared and there was no further bleeding or swelling found in the vicinity of that area.


The treatment was successfulin curing the patient of the ulcer of the penis gland. In three and a half months the patient had fully recovered and no sign of the disease remained.
